OPERATION|Kendall’s Nursery!

We finally started to work on baby girl’s nursery.  Not sure if you all remember my previous post of the two nursery  inspiration boards I posted. Well we decided with the pink and gray nursery!!

Gray is so HOT this season and it is a color honesty  that can be paired with so many other colors.  When I first saw this inspiration board I knew this was it!

First person I called was my oh so talent friend Sara Catherine who is a local interior designer here in Charlotte.  I sent her the picture of this room and I she was able to gather up some wallpaper, paint, and fabric samples !

I am addicted to wallpaper so I decided to pick the wallpaper first and work around that.  When Sara showed me this sample I immediately fell in love with the pattern and it was just the touch I needed to give her room the oh so fab look!!

Now that the wallpaper has been selected I need to find a the perfect shade of pink and I decided to go with Sherwin Williams.

We had the walls painted and the wallpaper installed last week and when I walked into the room for the first time I was in awe!!! It was  love at first sight the wallpaper and pink combo really just took me over the edge! I think I stared at the walls for a good hour.  My husband had to come in the room and told me to slowly step away. His words exactly where...That's enough honey! LOL

I decided to go with all white furniture and we purchased a white crib from babys r us and a four dresser drawer from ikea. I want to find some cute silver knobs to add the dress and then it will be good to go!

Next, on our list is to work on Kendall's closet! Stay tuned for details in a future blog!! So excited!! Ok, I will give you one hint....the hinges have been removed from the closet door!!  YAY!!!!!

Other items on the list to do is to pick out window treaments, light fixtures, bedding,  and accent pieces!!  We have a lot to tackle but there is a mission to get accomplish!!!

OPERATION KENDALL’S NUSERY…..stay tuned!!!

{SURPRISE BABY SHOWER AT WORK!}

Last week to my surprise my job threw me a surprise baby shower! And boy I was surprised!  My project manager asked me to attend a meeting with her and as we are walking by the cafeteria eating area I began to see familiar faces from people from my department. Then I spotted out the pink and the gray décor and  I knew it  really wasn't a meeting she wanted me to attend but my very own baby shower!
As most of you know I am all about events and the first thing I gravitated too was the décor. As I am walking around admiring the great job my team did my co-worker Rogers says, “Hey Eishia, Is your husband ready for the baby?” My response was of course he is! While I was thinking he must not know my husband!  Then Roger says, “Is he ready to change all of those diapers?” And you know this was the prime opportunity for me to mention that he won the baby changing contest at work.
So, I went on to tell that story! And my manager says. “Really, Eishia?” And I glance up at her to respond and Xzavier was standing right there! I couldn’t help myself and I just screamed!! He walked up to me and gave me a hug and I started to cry. I was so surprise to see him at work and it just made the baby shower extra special that they also surprised me with inviting him!  I think I had a couple of people in the room teary eyed from my reaction.  I love surprises and it is nothing like a true surprise that makes it extra special!!
We went on to open gifts and we received the cutest diaper cake that was decorated with various items off my registry in pink and gray!! SUPER ADORABLE!!! We received a matching big and burping towel set in a fabric that is to die for, clothes, and a card signed my all of my co-workers with a big wad of cash that had a label that said “This is for your fancy stroller!”  And of course I screamed again as I envisioned me walking around with my fancy stroller…LOL.
My husband and I were beyond grateful!  I was overcome with joy and felt really loved by my co-worker for taking the time to celebrate our new little addition and bless us with gifts!!
I can honestly say that I have been blessed to have a wonderful job and great co-workers. I have three more weeks before I leave to go on maternity leave and as much as I am excited about this next journey in my life I am sad to leave my team. But, I will save that  story for another post!

Our First Childbirth Class!!
Taking Care of a Baby/Infant CPR Class

Tonight Xzavier and I took our first baby education course! And I must say we both felt that the class was very informative. Even though both of us have some experience with caring for babies the class was good refresher.

The class began with a local pediatrician speaking and informing us about choosing the right physician for our child and general overview of what to expect from the time the baby is born and the first couple of visits to the doctor’s office.

Next was the fun part we learned how to perform CPR on an infant and what steps you need to take when a baby is choking. Each couple was given a doll baby to practice on that made the experience seem more real for us.  The instructor moved on how to treat the umbilical cord when we bring our baby home. She explained that we couldn’t give the baby its first bath until the umbilical cord fall off on its own.  So for the first couple of weeks we will have to give her a sponge bath and the instructor went through bathing an infant while caring for the umbilical cord.
Best part of the night was when the fathers in the class had a competition on who can change the baby’s diaper the fastest and of course my competive husband won!! GO HONEY GO!!!! I was such a proud wife! I just hope he can move that fast with a live baby!!
Our next class is a child birth class prepares you for labor and delivery! YIKES!!!!!  I hope the class doesn’t make me go into labor!  Wish us luck!!! The whole labor and delivery process makes me a little nervous.

Such a proud mom of our baby manikin!

36 weeks and 25 more days to go!
Your baby is gaining about an ounce a day.  She's shedding most of the downy hair that covered her body, as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Next week, your baby will be considered full-term. Most likely she's in a head-down position, but if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an external cephalic version, where she'll try to turn your baby by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.

How far along?  36 weeks
Baby’s Size:
approx.  6 pounds and 18 ½ inches long
Total Weight Gain: 44 pounds
Bellybutton:  An inne
Stretchmarks: No stretchmarks on my stomach! YAY!!! I have been moisturizing by belly faithfully everyday!
Maternity Clothes:  I really have not spent a ton of money on maternity clothes. I probably brought about 6 or 7 pieces.
Gender:  G I R L!!!
Movement: Since she is in the head-down position and a lot bigger I feel her feet in the top middle part of my stomach.  It feels like she is doesn’t have my space in my belly and is constantly stretching her legs out.  Ooouuchh!!
Sleep: Sleep has been good! I have noticed that the trips to the bathroom have increased once again.
Symptoms: Swollen Feet and ankles
Food Aversions: None!
Food Cravings: Quarter Pounder with cheese and something sweet.

Best Moments this week:  The progress we are making with her nursery!!
What I miss: Sometimes I miss my old body. Your body while you are pregnant goes through such a major transformation.  I am ready to hit the gym and be fit again!
What I am looking forward to:  I am looking forward to our new life as parents to our little girl. The closer I get the more excited I get about her being a part of our family.
Milestones:  Just the fact that I have made it this far and my pregnancy has not been bad.

HAPPY EASTER!!!!
Happy Easter everyone!  I know I have been slack about blogging but a girl has been super busy!  April has been such a busy month and I have so much to blog about!! Two baby girls were born, attended three baby showers, and my upcoming baby shower that is next Saturday!!
So let’s catch up a little on me and my pregnancy status. Yesterday I officially turned 32 weeks which means that I am 8 months now!! Can you believe it??? Time has been has been flying by!!
For the most part I have been feeling great!  My doctors appoints are not every two weeks verses once a month!  All my appointments have been going really well and the doctors say I am right on track!  In these last several weeks I can tell that I have been getting bigger at a faster rate! I remember when I was praying to have a pregnancy belly and boy do I!!
Baby girl seems to like to have dance parties in my stomach these days and I am thinking about having her try martial arts!  Sometimes I think I am getting punched and kicked at the same time!  Honestly, It is the funniest thing to look at your stomach and see your baby moving!  It is just amazing and reminds me everyday how awesome our God is!!!
Since I am getting closer and closer to my due date today may have been my last Sunday singing on the Young Adult Choir!  Tear Drop….Tear Drop!  I promised myself that the month  I will try to slow down. Although I am feeling great I I am also feeling really exhausted these days.
I have so much more to blog about but please be patient!
Here is a picture that I took at church today! These are some of my girls in the Alto section!! Tanya, Loretta, me and Bri!
